    When coming from the north, the trail junction noted at miles in the info sheet is a little confusing. It is not well marked. If you continue straight on the trail at this junction, you will be on the PCT. If you take a right at a sign that says “horse camp”, you will continue down the Lodgepole trail.

The trail descriptions below are only a small sample of the many trails found in this area. Ask a ranger for more information on trails or purchase a map and/or trail guide at visitor center book stores at Lodgepole, Ash Mountain, Grant Grove, and Cedar Grove.

Please be aware that pets are not allowed on any trails in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Lodgepole Campground is two miles (3 km) from the Giant Forest sequoia grove and 21 miles (34 km) from the Sequoia National Park entrance.
